Parish
Council
The
parish
community
is
lead
by
the
parish
priest
who
works
together
with
a
council
that
is
elected
each
year
by
the
congregation
at
its
annual
assembly.
These
individuals
are
chosen
to
lead
by
example,
as
many
of
them
spend
countless
hours
working
at
or
for
the
church
and
encourage
others
to
do
the
same.

Parish
Choir
An
essential
part
of
Orthodox
Christian
worship
is
the
role
of
the
choir.
These
are
the
people
responsible
for
leading
the
people
in
prayer,
responding
to
the
clergy
in
a
"dialogue
of
prayer."
The
parish
choir
is
made-up
of
young
and
old,
American-born
and
Romanian-born,
and
is
always
accepting
new
singers
who
wish
to
dedicate
themselves
to
rehearsals
and
offer
their
talents
to
the
Lord
at
the
Sunday
Divine
Liturgy
and
various
other
services/events
throughout
the
year.

Parish
Cantors
The
cantors
also
play
a
vital
role
in
the
life
of
the
parish.
They
lead
the
responses
at
Sunday
Matins
services,
weekday
Divine
Liturgies,
Baptisms,
Funerals,
Weddings
(when
the
choir
is
not
requested),
and
other
various
services
throughout
the
year.
Ladies
Auxiliary
It
is
said
that
the
women
truly
are
the
backbone
of
the
parish.
Since
their
founding
in
1933,
their
role
has
evolved
just
as
the
role
of
women
in
society
has
changed.
They
have
gone
from
working
in
the
kitchen
to
also
working
on
the
council,
organizing
events
&
fundraisers
and
taking
a
more
active
role
in
the
life
of
the
parish.
All
women
who
are
members
of
the
parish
are
strongly
encouraged
to
take
part
in
this
organization.
The
local
auxiliary
is
also
a
part
of
the
national
ladies
auxiliary
of
the
Romanian
Orthodox
Episcopate,

Seeing

for

this

Although

Sunday
School
One
of
the
most
important
and
delicate
roles
the
Church
has
is
to
educate
the
children
in
their
Orthodox
Faith.
The
Sunday
School
program
at
this
parish
has
anywhere
from 70-90 enrolled
students
annually.
Ages
range
from
preschool
through
high
school.
A
group
of
dedicated
teachers
volunteer
their
time
and
talents
(and
a
bit
of
patience
too)
so
that
each
child
has
the
opportunity
to
grow
spiritually
as
a
child
of
God.
This,
however,
can
only
be
accomplished
with
the
cooperation
and
encouragement
of
the
parents.
