FROM THE PARISH PRIEST
Putting Excuses Aside
by Fr. Romey Rosco
Your attendance at church every Sunday shows that out of 168 hours each week
given to you by God, you can devote two of them to God by participating in the
services and sacraments. MOST OF
ALL, it shows your love for the Savior. Jesus
attended synagogue every Sabbath. We
can at least do the same by following His example.
One man says: “I do not want to go to church on Sunday because I was never
taught to go when I was young.” Another
one says: “I don’t go to church because I was forced to go when I was
young.”
One excuse is as good as another when we don’t want to do the right thing, and
the right thing as Christians is to worship the Lord on His Day – the Day
commemorating His Holy Resurrection from the dead.
“He became like man, He appeared in human likeness.
He was humble and walked the path of obedience to death – His death on
the cross. For this reason God
raised Him to the highest place above, and gave Him the name that is greater
than any other name, so that, in honor of the name of Jesus, all beings in
heaven and on the earth and in the world below will fall on their knees, and all
will openly proclaim that Jesus Christ is the Lord, to the glory of God the
Father.” (Philippians 2:7b-11)
Let’s all
put our excuses aside if we have not been participating in worship services.
Come, and feel the joy of worshipping your Lord and Savior.
