On Living A Christian Life

        As followers of Jesus Christ, is our Orthodox Christianity evident in our lives by the way we act and talk?  Do we show honesty, integrity and charity towards others?  Are we kind to one another, even to those who are unkind?  Do we witness to Christ through the Holy Sacraments?  Is our support of His Holy Church what it should be?

        We are members of the Body of Christ and we must live as He expects us to live: following His Example.  When we are base, dishonest or unkind to others, we misrepresent our Lord and do Him a great dishonor!

        The road to heaven is not an easy journey.  You cannot just walk along “thinking” about God; you must “act” in His Name.  You must represent Him, and there is no easy way to do that, for the challenges to His authority over your life are menacing.  And yes, our Lord Jesus Christ MUST be our Lord and Master – nothing less.  As God, He is the Author of all things, and must have authority over all.

        Make this Great Lent a time for your own personal recommitment to your Lord and your Church.  Vow to never take Him lightly.  Resolve to allow His authority to rule over you as a member of His Body.  Then experience the relief, and the joy, of having His love and protection.
