A Christmas Eve Thought
by Fr. Romey Rosco

As we are approaching the Birth of the Christ Child, the One Who came into the world to save our souls, it might be wise to remember that under today’s civil law and morality, He could well be a candidate for an abortion clinic.  After all, his mother was unmarried.  She was poor and very, very young.

She had life in her: a baby.  Let us never forget that a pregnant woman is not “going to have” a baby – she already has it!  She is a mother!  That is her child!  And the question is not one of bringing a child into the world, but of throwing a child out of the world.

The Blessed Virgin Mother of God is truly worthy of being praised by all mankind.  She chose what was God’s Will: to give birth to the Son of God, so that the world might be saved by Him.

May today’s mothers, every one of them, be of like mind so that God’s Will may be done in all His sons and daughters.   And may today’s fathers help them, like the noble and protective “Josephs” they are called to be.
