Hierarchal Divine Liturgy w/ Ordination to the Holy Priesthood of Dn. Mircea Vasiu
Sunday, 8 November 2009

The clergy greet Archbishop NATHANIEL at the entrance of the church, after which he enters and vests. The Liturgy begins with "Blessed is the Kingdom of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages." "Come let us worship and bow down before Christ. O Son of God, risen from the dead, save us who sing to You. Alleluia!"
His Eminence blesses at the Little Entrance. His Eminence censing the Holy Altar Table. The clergy at the High Place during the reading of the Epistle.
Adn. David Oancea & Dn. Mircea reading the Holy Gospel in the English & Romanian languages. Dn. Mircea saying his last litany as a deacon. The Great Entrance.
Dn. Mircea is led to his ordination to the priesthood from the back of the church...  ...symbolizing the fact that the clergy are chosen from among the people. Fr. Romey & Fr. Horaţiu lead Dn. Mircea around the Holy Altar Table three times, stopping at each corner for him to kiss it.
After each time around the Holy Altar Table, the candidate bows three times in front of the ordaining bishop.
Archbishop NATHANIEL reads the Prayer of Ordination... ...while Psa. Anca and the faithful in church kneel. The new priest is brought out of the altar and is vested in the priest vestments.
"He is worthy!  Vrednic este!" As is the tradition, Psa. Anca offers flowers to His Eminence.
"Again we offer You this spiritual and bloodless sacrifice, and we call on You, we pray You and humbly supplicate You: Send Your Holy Spirit on us and on these gifts here offered." The newly-ordained priest is given the Eucharist to hold and pray over until it is time for Communion. The clergy recite the Prayer before Communion.
The newly-ordained Fr. Mircea communes from the chalice for the first time as a priest. Toward the end of the Liturgy, Fr. Mircea is brought forward to receive the prayer to be a Father Confessor (to hear confessions).
His Eminence gives a blessing during the singing of "God grant them many years! Mulţi ani traiasca!" Fr. Romey, Fr. Mircea, Psa. Anca, Archbishop NATHANIEL, Fr. Horaţiu, & Adn. David pause for a photo after the Liturgy.
Fr. Mircea blesses the food at the luncheon hosted by the ladies auxiliary in honor of
Fr. Mircea & Psa. Anca.
