The Archbishop places a towel over the head of the new Subdeacon, who is then led to the iconostas where he remains for the first part of the Liturgy. The Little Entrance. Subdeacon Mircea is brought to the Holy Doors for the Archbishop's blessing at the beginning of the ordination. He is led around the Holy Table three times by Adn. David Oancea (l) and Dn. Ovidiu Pacurar (r) of Miramar FL (Dn. Mircea's classmate & Naşu). "O Holy Martyrs, who fought the good fight and have received your crowns, entreat the Lord that he will have mercy on our souls."
After each time around the Holy Table, the candidate makes a prostration in front of the hierarch. The Prayer of Ordination. Dn. Mircea's wife, Anca, in prayer during the ordination.
The deacons assist in vesting the new deacon in his vestments as the Archbishop exclaims:
"He is worthy! Vrednic este"
Dn. Mircea receives the Body of Christ. The clergy saying the prayer before Communion. Dn. Mircea communes from the chalice for the first time.
Dn. Mircea saying his first litany as a deacon. Receiving the Archbishop's blessing at the end of the Liturgy. The dismissal blessing.
The serving clergy pause for a photo with Dn. Mircea & Dsa. Anca. As the faithful come forward to kiss the icon and the cross, they congratulate Dn. Mircea as they receive an icon card from him.
In the hall, Dn. Mircea is welcomed with a cake... ...as well as a special coffee hour reception.
