Divine Liturgy & Presentation of Relics

His Grace, Bishop IRINEU celebrated the Hierarchal Divine Liturgy with us on this day and, to the surprise of the clergy and faithful, presented the parish with a reliquary containing the relics of twelve saints:

The relics will remain enshrined in our church for veneration by the faithful, along with a relic of the True Cross on which Christ was crucified already in the possession of the parish, in a beautiful gold reliquary donated by Virgil & Emilia Barbu and family.

 

The beginning of the
Divine Liturgy.
His Grace prepares to bless the faithful at the Little Entrance. "Lord, Lord, look down from heaven..."
The deacons read the Holy Gospel. The Great Entrance. His Grace reading the prayers of Consecration of the Gifts.
Following the Divine Liturgy, His Grace announced his gift to the parish and preached on the importance of relics. His Grace also congratulated V. Rev. Fr. John Surducan on the occasion of his upcoming 91st birthday. The faithful come forward to be anointed and to venerate the relics.
