The faithful bring clothing to be blessed.		During the service, seven Epistles and seven Gospels are read.		Reading one of the Holy Gospel readings over some of the faithful.

Divine Liturgy w/ Blessing of the Bread & Wine for Paşti

During the reciting of the Creed.		Fr. Rosco blessing the bread and wine which will be used to make the paşti.		Fr. Surducan blessing the bread and wine.

Reading of the Twelve Gospels

Fr. Rosco reading one of the Gospel readings of the passion of Christ.				The cross with Christ crucified available for veneration by the faithful.

Vespers w/ Laying of Christ in the Tomb

Fr. Rosco brings the burial shroud (epitaph) out of the altar to be placed in the tomb.				The shroud remains in the tomb until Holy Saturday.

Lamentations Service (Prohodul)

The Lamentations, or funeral service, for the death of Christ.				The Holy Gospel book is also placed on the tomb for veneration.
Fr. Rosco reads the Holy Gospel.		At the end of the service, the faithful come forward in silence to venerate the tomb.

Resurrection Matins
Sunday, 23 April 2006

After waiting in a dark church, the faithful come forward to receive the Paschal Light.		The clergy and faithful go in procession around the church.		The procession arrives back at the main entrance of the church.
The Gospel of the Resurrection of Christ is announced.		Everyone returns to the brightly-lit church.		Fr. Rosco censes during the singing of the Paschal Canon.
				Dn. Balanean intones the litany.
Parish cantors Dan Hoarşte, Dumitru Capaţina & Mircea Vasiu singing the Paschal Canon.				The choir, led by Director Theo Vingarzan, leads the responses.
"Christ is Risen!" "Hristos A Inviat!"		Fr. Rosco blessing the traditional Paschal baskets brought by some of the faithful.

Resurrection Divine Liturgy

The deacon raises the Holy Gospel book at the Little Entrance.		Seminarian Dan Hoarşte reading the Epistle.		Fr. Rosco proclaiming the Holy Gospel.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God..."		During the reciting of the Creed.		The faithful receive Holy Communion.
Fr. Rosco saying the prayer of the Amvon.				"Christ is Risen!" "Hristos A Inviat!"
		Following the Liturgy, everyone was invited into the social hall for an Easter Social sponsored by the ladies of the parish.
