Resurrection Matins, Divine Liturgy & Reception on Easter Sunday

The faithful first encounter the Troiţa at the entrance of the church. Fr. Rosco lights the Paschal Candle from the never-ending flame on the Holy Altar Table. The faithful light their candles from the Paschal Candles, filling the dark church with light.
The procession makes its way outside to go around the church. Altar servers leading the procession with the cross and fans. Fr. Rosco carries the Paschal Candle in procession along with Fr. Alexander and Dn. Horaţiu.
The cantors and choir. After encircling the church, the procession stops at the front doors for the first part of the Resurrection service.
The reading of the Holy Gospel announcing the Resurrection. Knocking on the door: "Open the gates, you princes, and let the King of Glory enter in!"
The Matins service continues inside the brightly-lit church.
Hundreds of faithful participated in the Resurrection service.
Fr. Partioc censes the church and faithful during the singing of the Paschal Canon.
Keeping with tradition, faithful bring baskets of meats, cheese and other food items to be blessed for the feast.

Later that morning, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated. The Little Entrance. The Holy Gospel.
